Notice of Award for R36 dissertation grant from AHRQ
I have received Notice of Award for an R36 dissertation grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality for my project titled “Implications of the US 340B Drug Pricing Program for the Availability, Quality of Care, and Equitability of Syndemic (HIV/SUD/MH) health Services (340B AQCESS).” The project will examine the potential role of the 340B Program in the provision and quality of syndemic health services. This project empirically tests the hypothesis at the heart of the current 340B debate—that revenue gained from enrollment in the program is reinvested by hospitals into crucial (but low profit) services such as HIV, SUD, and MI care; in doing so, this study investigates the health equity implications of the 340B program for populations disproportionately burdened by syndemic illness, in particular LGBTQ individuals.
